Membership Categories
 
VOTING MEMBERSHIP:
 
Board-Eligible: An agency is eligible for membership and its representative is eligible to serve on the Board if it: (1) is state licensed, (2) provides appropriate services to children and/or families with, or at risk of emotional or behavioral disturbances, and (3) is accredited by JCAHO, COA and/or CARF. Dues are based on annual revenues. Each Board-Eligible Member has one vote.
 
Association: An agency which is not accredited by JCAHO, COA or CARF may apply for Association membership if it: (1) is state licensed, and (2) provides appropriate services to children and/or families with, or at risk of emotional or behavioral disturbances. Dues are based on annual revenues. Each Association Member has one vote.
 
Multi-Facility System: A Multi-Facility System Member may be a network or alliance of facilities or programs which has organized itself by agreement or otherwise into a legally-recognizable entity, or a corporate or other legal entity which owns and operates two or more facilities or programs. Dues are based on the number of participating facilities or programs, each of which must meet the criteria for Board-Eligible or Association Membership. Each Multi-Facility System Member has one vote.
 
NON-VOTING MEMBERSHIP:
 
Corresponding membership is available to individuals, firms, corporations or other organizations which support the mission and purposes of the Association but are not otherwise eligible for Voting Membership. Corresponding Membership is not available to organizations providing behavioral treatment or related services to youth and families, or to individuals employed by such provider organizations. No Corresponding Member shall have voting privileges.
